Around 30 people meet up for tea, coffee, biscuits and friendly chat. Folk gather from about 10.00am to chat & drink. At 11.00am we have a short reading and prayer, and share news about those who are away. We often sing a hymn or two.
BMS Link We also keep folk up to date with news of our BMS link missionaries (currently Laura Lee Lovering who is serving the Lord in Peru). This group also loves raising funds for local charities.
Just drop in, you will be very welcome. We meet in the room at the back of the church : just walk through to the end of the conservatory and turn left.
Coffee morning started at Mount Pleasant in 1953 when the church wanted to extend it's support for the Baptist Missionary Society (BMS) because the new Minister at the time, Rev. Vaughan Walters, had served in India with BMS. So, each week a collection box is put on each coffee morning table.
In 2023 The coffee morning celebrated it’s 70th birthday with a cake and a presentation from Blackwood’s mayor to Pat, the then leader.
